Terms

A fair contract, in plain English.

These terms describe the relationship between you and Veritas Publishing when you use the service. They are written to be understood, not to be signed unread.

Last updated: June 6, 2026

1. The service

Veritas provides a research tool that scores publishing topics and titles against a blend of public market signals. You may use the service for your own work — as an author, publisher, agent, or analyst.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account. We may suspend access if we have reasonable belief that the account is being used in violation of these terms, and we will always tell you why before doing so.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Resell, scrape, or repackage our data or scoring outputs in a competing product.
  • Use the service to harass, defame, or unlawfully target any person or group.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass rate limits, or interfere with the operation of the service.
  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

Everything else — including commercial research, internal reports, and teaching — is welcome.

4. Plans and billing

The free tier is free, with the limits stated on the pricing page. Paid plans (Pro and Agency) are billed monthly via Stripe. We do not currently offer annual billing; we will let you know in the changelog when we do. You can cancel at any time and retain access through the end of the billing period.

We do not auto-downgrade the free tier. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep all your saved data on the free plan forever.

5. Our intellectual property

The Veritas name, mark, software, scoring models, and the structure of our research outputs are owned by us. Your data and your research are owned by you. We never train any model on your private searches or saved work.

6. Disclaimers

Veritas surfaces signals, not certainties. Our scores are a research aid, not a guarantee that a topic will be profitable or that a title will sell. We do our best to keep the data accurate, but we cannot warrant the completeness or fitness of any individual result for any particular project.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work hard to keep it running and we are honest when it isn't.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

In plain English: we stand behind the product, but a bad score should not be the reason your book fails.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced with at least 14 days' notice by email and in-dashboard banner. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, with notice and, where possible, an opportunity to cure.
